Compressors-What it is?

Compressors these days is an essential part of our lives. In the first instance, you may consider that Compressors? What are Compressors? We do not have any knowledge about it? We dont know what purpose they are used for? But the truth is Compressed air has over the years become a utility, very similar to the electric or natural gas and is indespensable in safe operation of today's manufacturer. A typical system will consist of: air compressor, compressed air dryer, compressed air filters, condensate filters and air lines (pipes).

The actual thing is we are using compressors on daily basis whether they are in consumer products such as refrigerators, Heating, Ventilatiing and Air Conditioning (HVAC) or compressors for the industrial use.
Air Compressors are used in various industries such as HVAC, farming, Pharmaceuticals, automotive companies, body shops, spray paints, and many more. The size of the compressors varies from the demand of air needed or according to the horse power.

Choosing right compressor according the right demand is very important.
When choosing an air compressor we often make the mistake of defining the need by specifying the compressor's brake horsepower, which is only related to how much energy your compressor will use, not how much air it will deliver. What we should do instead is calculate the air consumption rate of our facility and choose the compressor that will deliver the sufficient required amount of air. In North America, air consumption is generally expressed in cubic feet per minute (CFM), at a specific pressure, which for the majority of operation is 100 psi. It is very important that we specify the pressure correctly in order not to over pressurize the system. Compressing air generates heat as there is an additional costs associated with each additional psi, for example: using a 145 psi compressor in a system, which would require only 100 psi would significantly increase the facility's energy consumption.

DV Systems helps their clients to choose a right compressor based on the air demands not on the compressor's brake horsepower.

In order to understand air compressors in the simple words, Consider your lungs as an air compressor. When you take a deep breathe to fill the air into ballons, for example, you are increasing the pressure of the air in your lungs, which effectively is an air compressor containing pressurized air. You then use the force of the air in your lungs to fill the air into the ballons.

Compressed air can be used in a variety of ways. It can be used to alter the chemical composition as in the case of making fertilizer or it can be used for industrial purposes like production line manufacturing processes or it can be used to maintain industrial plants. Perhaps the most well known use of air compressors is in the case of pneumatic tools like air powered nail guns, staplers, sanders, spray guns or ratchet wrenches. Air Compressors can also be used to move debris.

Most of the DV compressors are direct driven and equipped with Variable Speed modules which allows you to improve the performance and efficiency. VSD drive also continuously adjusts to actual demands eliminating over pressurization which allows you to save on energy.
